What kinds of plants should I get for small tank?
I have a 1.5 gallon aquarium that has a heater and a light, as well as airation. I was going to use the tank as an almost underwater garden, and I was wondering what kinds of plants should I put in there. Some of my ideas were small java ferns, anubias barteri var. nana, christmas moss, and cladophora balls. Once the plants were in place, I'd eventually get some snails to eat the algae (any suggestions on snails?). Thanks for helping.
moss, glosso, riccia, dwarf hairgrass maybe. 1.5 gallons is tiny even in nano tank terms. most plants will take over.
keep in mind, you will need a proper light, substrate and fertilizer to keep that running...
for snails, the guy above me is dumb. i would stick with ramshorns or malaysian trumpet snails. pond snails reproduce insanely fast. malaysians do too, but they dig in the gravel and will help out your plants.
