I am thinking of setting up a 100 gallon Salt water Fish Tand thats been in my garage since I moved. I have a new baby and am looking to have someone install it for me. I got a price quote from one place of $1000.00. I thought that sounded like a lot? I have all the necessary equiptment? Any Feedback would be great!
1k sounds like an awful lot, especially since its just someone hooking up the equipment and getting it running. I'd expect something closer to $20/hr as a reasonable fee.
I'd suggest seeking out your local saltwater aquarium society and posting on their forums. There's a lot of experienced hobbyists who would either help (for a fee, or maybe even for free), or be able to recommend a reputable company in the area. As a bonus, staff of the local fish stores tends to hang out on those boards, so that's another avenue you'd be able to research.
