anyone use a Rapids Pro PS3 aquarium filter out there?
i cant for the life of me figure out where the second hose goes from the aqua lifter to the skimmer that hangs on the back of the tank.
it came with some hoses already in position but i dont know if they have sent it with the right configuration. the directions do just not make sence for what they are telling me and for what they have sent me. i have never used any filter this big so i am pretty ignorant about the whole thing.
I purchased a system with this filter on 2/3/07 and just finished getting it up and running. The directions are worthless.
That said, the hose on the aqua lifter needs to be pushed down inside the skimmer between the skimmer frame and the noise reducer. It does not attach to anything it simply sits there.
I had to lower the overflow tube in the skimmer to the lowest setting and fill the aquarium as high as possible (to the point I cannot use the heater that came with the system as the water level is too high and the heater is not fully submersible). All in all I think this is a bad filter but I am stuck with it for the forseable future. At this time I am getting nothing from the protein skimmer.
I also noticed that when I did not have enough water the aqua lifter made a lot of sputtering noises and when it had air in it it would splash water out of the skimmer so just be cautious to not splash too much water.
